Just when we thought our family was done bowling for the year, we got an invitation to come bowling for a special girl’s birthday.
Cassie was turning 12 and her family wanted us to come and surprise the birthday girl at a local bowling alley with two hours of bowling fun!
Well, fun was an understatement…it was a blast. The alley seemed as though it was made for the likes of us, and we fell in love with it.
No more heavy bowling balls that drag you down the lane when they are being thrown. This was the life!
The Grady’s have all had horror bowling stories so this trip to the alleys was mild in comparison. Cassie's younger brothers are all naturally athletic and were bowling fast and furious to get in as many games as possible.
Cassie got her good bowling genes from her father. He had good tips on bowling for everybody. He even straightened out my bad left hook.
We were glad there were no professionals at the alley making us look bad. No one was too much better or worse…well except Tootsie. (ahem).
Tootsie surprised us all with lots of spares and even strikes on her last game which got her a score of 140. Many of her siblings were jealous of her scores compared to their puny ones.
Everyone took pizza breaks in between turns, and it was gone in a flash.
One ball got stuck in the gutter and had to be manually removed by the maintenance man. He came for a second visit for a pin stuck in the gutter as well. We didn’t see him visit any other lanes. I guess we’re just special!
One of the bowling balls was so light, it wouldn’t go down the tube to be taken back and no matter how many other balls were thrown afterwards, it wouldn’t come back.
At the end of our time there, Cassie opened her gifts. Even though she has many brothers in her family, she does enjoy girly things.
Happy Birthday Cassie! Thank you for taking us along to help celebrate.

Bowling is awesome, isn't it? :-) I've gone for a couple years in a row on my birthday. Needless to say, my dad beat me the majority of the time (hehehe).
