Grady’s have never
gone disc golfing for the skill factor. It’s more for the fun factor. If you
want to have a good laugh, you are welcome to come along with us. Just ask the
professionals who came along with us last time. They had the choice of ripping
out their hair in frustration or joining in the laughter. Thankfully, they chose
the latter because the first option would be painful. Each of us received
two discs for Christmas and we were eager to try them out on the
course. Despite the minor setback of an emergency room visit, we made it to the
course to play on the final warm day of the week. Fast and furious would be two
adjectives to describe our game. There were so many of us it took a long time
to get every person’s disc thrown. The only problem with the fast and furious
method is that when we throw fast, our discs end up in all the
wrong places...like the weeds or a deep gulley for example. Everyone was so
busy laughing at the horrible throws that they did the exact same thing,
or worse. So join us sometime for laughing exercise…I mean a disc golf game.
Brightly colored discs are the best. They are the easiest to find in the weeds.
So we may not play disc golf well, but we can take pictures. Betsy nabbed the camera and tried her hand at Tootsie shots in the setting sun.
Then she lined everyone up for the grand group photo.
Photos finished...the children had more time to fill while waiting for the ER visitors to return so they opted for a bit of 'Everybody's It' tag...minus the rubber bands.
Another positive benefit of a big family...there's always enough people around for group games!
What a day! Thank You, God, for Your protection. You surround us with Your favor as with a shield...
